We have seeds from 2002-2019 that have been stored in a freezer also and they still sprout without issue because extreme cold extends the life of seeds by decades under the right conditions. We grew basil from a pack of seeds dated 2002 last summer and had a bountiful harvest for pesto. We then collected the seeds from some of those basil plants and stored them away for the future.
